About Us

PP&VA is home to Penrith Regional Gallery, Home of The Lewers Bequest, the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, Penrith Conservatorium, and Q Theatre. We deliver high-quality exhibitions, performances, and arts education programs to our vibrant community.

About the Role

Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Marketing Assistant will support the marketing team in helping to deliver engaging content and promotional campaigns across multiple channels. You will play a key role in helping us to raise awareness, drive audience engagement, and support our mission to bring the arts to the Penrith community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of marketing plans to drive attendance and audience engagement.
  • Create and manage engaging digital content, including social media posts, short videos, EDMs, and website updates.
  • Liaise with external contractors and stakeholders, including digital agencies, designers, videographers, and media outlets.
  • Support publicity efforts by assisting in writing media releases, maintaining contact lists, and identifying promotional opportunities.
  • Manage advertising schedules and coordinate the distribution of marketing collateral.
  • Assist in audience research, creating surveys, and compiling marketing reports to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Provide marketing administrative support, including responding to inquiries, maintaining records, and coordinating materials for grant applications and reports.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Criteria

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to engage a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience in digital marketing, including website management, social media, and CRM databases.
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills for print and digital content.
  • Highly organised with strong project management abilities.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar marketing role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe, MailChimp, and WordPress (or similar platforms).
  • Attention to detail, with strong proofing and sub-editing skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A team player with a willingness to take direction.
  • A passion for the arts and a creative mindset.

Desirable Criteria

  • A degree in marketing, communications, arts, or a related field.
  • Video editing experience and knowledge of relevant software.
  • Project management experience.
  • A current NSW driver’s licence.
